Professional Duct Cleaning Opinion

Although, we don’t disagree with N.A.D.C.A, we don’t fully agree, but what do we know. First, we know that every system doesn’t need to be cleaned every 5 years. How we know, because we have gone back to the same home we cleaned 5 years ago and it’s still clean. However, it is rare that a home is still clean after 5 years.

The age of your home is an important factor. Older homes seem to have more air gaps. Comparatively as a home ages so does the duct work, duct connections my become loose due to age and it’s an open invitation to dust/debris. All homes are under a slight amount of negative air pressure. The negative air pressure causes air to pull down the interior of the walls.

How many people live in a home including furry family members? In like manner more people, more animals, more accumulation. It definitely takes time for a HVAC system to accumulate contaminants to the point where it’s time to get your ducts cleaned.

New built homes need duct cleaning services. While your home is getting built more than likely the contractor has the HVAC system turned on. In the event, that the system is on during all the interior work, the system has accumulated drywall, carpet, hard flooring, and whatever else. Furthermore, there are harmful toxins that are released from carpet and flooring. Flooring and carpet are cured with toxic chemicals.

Lastly, if there’s no kids, no animals, and you keep up on house work, this is the rare case where it may be the last time you need an air duct cleaning. So if you’re asking yourself, “When is it Time to get my Ducts Cleaned”  just call your local duct cleaners near me and setup an inspection.

Other Furnace & Duct Cleaning Factors

There are factors that should determine when you need your air ducts cleaned. The majority of those factors are mention throughout this page. Notably, there’s a few that are not.

Similarly to a new built home, if there’s been or are undergoing renovations you will want to a good air duct cleaning. It’s rare a contractor will keep the HVAC system shut off and seal all of the ducts. In return, the HVAC system will collect debris that’s air born and falls into air lines.

From time to time, homeowners or renters may experience pet or/and rodent issues. In particular, pet urine and rodent feces can be hazardous to ones health. Not to mention, sometimes rodents can die in ductwork.

Over time, the ammonia from pet urine will evaporate into the air, generating toxic fumes that can cause respiratory illness and skin & eye irritation. The accumulation of feces from mice and rats can spread bacteria, contaminate food sources and trigger allergic reactions in humans. Once the fecal matter becomes dry, it can be hazardous to those who breathe it in. Moreover, rodent droppings can spread diseases and viruses.
